I spent over 3 hours exploring the @ZecHub Hackathon submissions, and I must say, the level of innovation on display was impressive. There were 35 submissions across 5 tracks: Infrastructure, Games, FROST, Zcash Login, and Accounting. After analyzing several projects and testing a number of demos, I found it incredibly difficult to make a choice because the quality of submissions was consistently high across the board. That said, here are a few projects that particularly stood out to me: 1. Gleyo, submitted by Gilmore (Infrastructure) Gleyo is a Zcash-native quest and community growth platform that allows projects to fund community wallets in ZEC, publish quests, reward contributors directly with shielded ZEC, run community chats, and measure retention from a single platform. What makes Gleyo exciting is its potential to drive adoption and traction for the Zcash ecosystem. By giving communities a simple way to onboard contributors, incentivize participation, and distribute rewards using shielded transactions, Gleyo creates more opportunities for users to interact with ZEC in real-world scenarios. It could become a powerful engine for ecosystem growth, community building, and long-term user retention. 2. ZBounty, submitted by Jay-cey (Accounting) ZBounty is a privacy-focused bounty platform for individuals and open-source communities. Users can create tasks and reward contributors through fully shielded z-to-z transactions while benefiting from a gamified Privacy Score that encourages stronger privacy practices. What I particularly like is its accessibility. Anyone, anywhere can create a bounty on Zcash. This opens the door for developers, creators, researchers, and communities around the world to coordinate work and rewards while preserving financial privacy. 3. ZPayroll, submitted by Monsignore (Accounting) ZPayroll is a private payroll application designed for salary distribution through Zcash. It executes payroll runs using Orchard shielded transactions, supports Unified Addresses, and leverages deterministic wallet generation for employers. This is one of those projects that addresses a practical business need. Privacy-preserving payroll could be a compelling use case for organizations that value confidentiality while leveraging Zcash's shielded transaction capabilities. 4. Zaygent, submitted by Joshua Onazi (Infrastructure) Zaygent is a privacy-first autonomous crypto trading agent that funds, trades, and settles through Zcash shielded transactions while using NEAR Intents for cross-chain settlement. The combination of AI-driven automation, privacy, and interoperability is particularly interesting. It demonstrates how Zcash can extend beyond payments and become part of broader autonomous financial systems. 5. PedalShield, submitted by Intelligrip (Games) PedalShield rewards real bicycle rides with shielded ZEC while keeping route data entirely on the rider's device. The project combines privacy-preserving design with real-world activity incentives and autonomous Orchard payouts. I found this concept especially creative because it transforms healthy everyday activity into a rewarding experience while staying true to Zcash's privacy principles. My only question is whether the concept is limited to bicycle riding alone, or if it could eventually expand to other forms of physical activity. Other submissions such as ZecPass, ZEC-OS, and Authentication with ZcashMe are also impressive projects that showcase the growing diversity of innovation within the Zcash ecosystem. They serve as further evidence that builders are finding meaningful ways to extend the utility of Zcash beyond simple payments.
