Fr. Rick Frechette is an American Passionist priest and physician who has spent decades serving in Haiti. After his ordination, his missionary work eventually led him to Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in Haiti, where the sisters cared for babies born to dying mothers, many of whom were sick with HIV/AIDS. Determined to make a difference in their lives, Fr. Rick enrolled in medical school in New York and, after earning his medical degree, returned to Haiti. As a physician, he cares for the Haitian people, many of whom have been wounded by gang violence. His tireless and indiscriminate service earned him a place among Haiti's 12 most influential personalities, as named by Le Nouvelliste in 2019—the same year he celebrated the 40th anniversary of his ordination.
