A massive mudslide started in Nepal and crossed into Gyirong Port in Tibet causing major casualties and missing persons at the port. Chinese media reports President Xi Jinping issued instructions for all-out search and rescue efforts. Nepal reported at least 8–17 deaths plus widespread destruction of villages, roads, bridges, and hydropower sites. The death toll is expected to rise.

Per my reporting earlier today, the CIA meeting with Russia was to press the Russians to pressure the Iranians to reopen the Straits of Hormuz and stop transacting with Iran or face further sanctions under Operation Economic Outcast. Russia rejected it.

Aug. 24, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced Operation Economic Outcast, threatening to sanction any country doing business with Iran & blow up the financial system. Iran’s trading partners include Russia, China, Gulf states, India and Pakistan. Aug. 25, CIA Director John Ratcliffe flew to Moscow for meetings. Details of the meeting agenda have not been disclosed. It’s unclear if these two events are related but the timing is curious, particularly since Russia is the only Iran trading partner which is already heavily sanctioned by the US so threats of sanctions may not effect Russia.

A Texas attorney, Steven Tyler Swain, was charged with bestiality involving the family’s dog. According to court documents, the charge stems from an incident with the family dog “Shipley.” Swain’s wife discovered the footage on surveillance cameras she had installed inside their home while contractors were working. She initially suspected him of cheating, but what she found was far more disturbing. The court records contain very graphic details of what allegedly occurred between Swain and Shipley. Swain’s wife file for a divorce, took their children and dog and filed a restraining order.

President Trump said 97% of his endorsed candidates have won their primaries. While that’s good for him in solid red states, he left out an important factor which is 5 out of 6 battleground states had higher Dem turnout. If turnout is similar in the general, that’s not a good sign for Trump-endorsed candidates in those states.

Self proclaimed progressive and pro-choice Israel activist, Shabbos Kestenbaum, was invited to speak at pro-life Christians United for Israel (CUFI) to support Israel in the 2028 election. In his speech, he recited bible verses such as “Don’t mistreat the widow” as an attack on Candace Owens and in defense of Erika Kirk. Kestenbaum spent most of his time in 2024-2025 attacking and labeling student protestors who demanded their schools divest from Israel as antisemites.

Jake Lang arrested for causing riot in Minneapolis while holding a sign “Jake Lang loves Black People but Hates N**gers” Video shows Lang getting beat up by Spiderman after Lang’s crew drove onto the sidewalk in front of City Hall toward a crowd of people gathered there. Police said Jake Lang and the other occupants of both vehicles were arrested on probable cause of riot. Both vehicles were impounded.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for South Carolina has brought several similar cases in recent months, including a former Rock Hill teacher indicted in August for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, a former Columbia teacher indicted in July on charges of attempted production, distribution, and possession of the same, and a former Charleston County magistrate who pleaded guilty in July to possessing and distributing similar material.
