Glass substrates just got a fresh vote of confidence — and few are asking who supplies the glass.
Last week Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan confirmed Intel is still investing in glass substrate packaging — a reversal after reports it might be shelved.
The catch: Corning is one of three names controlling most of the world's low-CTE glass, and a furnace takes 12–18 months to build.
Already moving: Amazon signed a multi-billion-dollar deal for Corning fiber to feed its AI data centers.
Glass substrates are a late-decade story. The supply chain is being priced now.
