So today it's AI freakout day in the market! Why ? Because we're going "to slow down AI"! Broad perspective on it: AI is progress. Progress is when something new comes along. Can be : Idea, Process, or Object. This will replace or improve something which exists. People who will be replaced don't like it and try to fight it as much as they can. Examples are plentiful . They denounce it , laugh at it and claim as loudly as they can that "it'll never work" ! Even "luminaries" as Bill Gates told us, just 20 years ago that Iphone will never work. Nor will 18 wheelers electric. Amazon will never work because : " nobody wants to buy their books online, they want to go to their favorite book store and talk to the owner about what was the "good" book to read this week"! Just 6 years ago ArianeSpace laughed at how "retrieving rockets would never work, and the poor idiot going in this business will learn the hard way"! They now freak out realizing how they lost their business and desperately scrambling to hope to remain (somewhat) relevant! All the "young" ones among us remember what a "fabulous" tool Lotus 1,2,3 was. And it was all you would ever need for you digital work! I remember the 12 (or so) "diskette" you had to insert in sequence in your Desktop to "load it up" IBM paid 3.5 billion for the lotus company just 30 years ago. It got completely wiped out by MSFT Exec! What's my point ? Once progress happens and is there: it will happen whether you like it or not ! Either you embrace it, develop it, use it or your neighbor, competitor or ENEMY will! So "some people" have "decided" to "slow AI down" ? So that we leave the whole ball game to the Chinese, right ? That's "really smart" , and that's what we want ? That's like slowing down the "Manhattan project" , so that the Nazis can develop the A Bomb first, right ? AI is NOT going to slow down worldwide and watching the game from the bleachers is NOT the way to go !
