Tesla just teased 10.01 for the next-gen Roadster unveil. And Elon has been telling us for months that this is NOT going to be a normal car launch. He’s called the new Roadster: “Something special beyond a car.” “The coolest car, if it even is a car.” “A banger next-level.” And he said the demo is supposed to be “unforgettable” and one of the “most spectacular demos ever.” He’s also said the production version will look very different from what Tesla originally showed, with production expected roughly 12–18 months after the demo. And maybe the biggest clue about what Tesla is building here… “In the future, the only vehicles we’ll make are autonomous vehicles and the Roadster.” Elon described it as the “best of the last of the human-driven cars” and said that, long term, the only manually driven car will be the new Tesla Roadster. This is where Tesla’s future is headed. Robotaxis and autonomous vehicles on one side. The Roadster on the other. This is probably the final celebration of driving yourself.
