If you could only choose one… which would you rather have?
At the xAI all-hands meeting, Elon described building AI that could one day emulate entire human companies, basically doing the full work of whole software teams and organizations with pure AI. Today, xAI just launched the very first real stepping stone to that vision… Grok Build (early beta). It’s a super smart AI coding agent that runs right in your terminal. You give it a simple high-level goal like “build me a full expense tracker app with login and dashboard,” and Grok does it all - it plans everything, writes the code, runs commands, tests it, debugs issues, and keeps iterating - ALL on its own. You just watch it work and give feedback. It even lets you click with your mouse inside the terminal… which is a big deal imo. This is exactly how Elon’s Macrohard idea is turning into real life, where Grok is the smart “brain” directing the AI agents to handle actual digital work. I bet this is the technology that scales up to AI systems that can run entire digital companies one day. Huge milestone for xAI! 👏 Try it here if you have Grok Heavy:

Feels like everyone’s telling me to set up OpenClaw… but do I really need to? I feel like it’s just a matter of time before xAI’s Macrohard is going to end up doing it better anyway… especially when Elon says this project is going to emulate entire human companies. “The Macrohard project probably will be our most important project because what we’re talking about is emulation of entire human companies. So when you look at the most valuable companies in the world, they are… their output is digital. So they don’t actually make hardware. So it should be possible to completely emulate any company where the output is digital. And this will usher in an age of prosperity the likes of which we can barely imagine at this point. You need to imagine to imagine it. So this is a big deal…”

Try this early Grok Build (anything) beta and let us know what to improve. Much appreciated!

SpaceX may only be doing $15-$16B in annual revenue today, while aiming for a $2T IPO, and most people will look at that and say, “That valuation makes no sense... it's overvalued.” But to me, this company is still SIGNIFICANTLY undervalued. SpaceX owns the launch system. It owns the satellite network. It owns Starlink. It owns the path to orbital AI compute. And with Starship, it will become the lowest-cost access to space in human history. And honestly, this is why I think I’m going to become the first billionaire in my family tree. Not because I got lucky... but because I saw this before almost anyone I knew did. I did my homework. I understood from day 1 that SpaceX wasn’t just launching rockets, it was building the operating system for space.

The only CEO to bring his kid to US-China summit is... “Of anything in my life, I would say kids by far make me the happiest.” - Elon Musk
I think we all know the real reason the world’s most powerful people came to China… Elon seems exhausted from the nonstop selfie marathon. On the positive side, at least all of this is happening under tight security.

Hey SpaceX fam! Planning a potential surprise graduation present for my kids - their very first in-person Starship launch (V3/Flight 12 next week at Starbase). They’ve never seen one live and I want to make it awesome for them. Any tips on the best places to stay on South Padre Island to see it? Also, any fun activities that would pair great with it (beaches, dolphin tours, etc.)? Grateful for any help making this epic. 🙏

Humanoid robots are going to be one of the biggest game-changers we’ve ever seen. They’re going to help us in ways that are genuinely super exciting like taking over the dangerous, dirty, and exhausting jobs nobody wants… warehouses, factories, elder care, you name it. They will solve huge labor shortages and let us humans focus on more meaningful work. It’s going bring abundance and productivity to a whole new level. But I believe there will also be a dark side to this… it’s probably also going to create a lot of real chaos. If you pay attention, these robots don’t get tired, don’t complain, don’t need breaks, and they can keep going 24/7 as long as they are charged. And they also will cost much less than humans as well… They’re going to be stepping in for entire shifts of human work in a way we’ve never seen before. And it’s happening faster than most people realize. A lot of people are still sleeping on this, thinking this is just for show. They see it as “cool tech” but fail to connect the dots on how it’ll disrupt jobs, economies, and our daily lives. This is the reality unfolding in real time. I’m excited about what this means for humanity, but we also need to be smart about it. Retraining, new opportunities, support for people whose jobs get lost… we’ve got to get ahead of it instead of scrambling later. I get it when Elon says we will eventually need universal basic income...

This is just the truth, so just going to say it out loud. When you operate at a level that most people don’t understand… life is really different. When you move fast, think big, take risks, and refuse to live a normal life, you naturally start feeling disconnected from a lot of people around you. It’s really not bc I think I’m “better” than anyone… it’s that my mindset, priorities, and vision are just too different. Most people want comfort, routine, and predictability. But my whole life, I’ve never been wired that way. This is honestly probably why most of my close friends are older than me, even my significant other is older too. I’ve always connected more with people who think long term, build things, take responsibility, understand sacrifice, and give a middle finger to excuses. The freedom I have today, is earned through years of obsession, high stress & pressure, and believing in something when almost nobody else did. A lot of people see the freedom I have today… the lifestyle… the time… the ability to work from anywhere. However, what they don’t see is the lonely part of this road. When you’re constantly operating at a pace people think is “unsustainable,” you lose relatability with a lot of the world. Your mind never really shuts off. You start seeing life differently. You become addicted to growth, building, learning, creating, improving. You stop fitting into normal conversations, normal routines, and normal ways of thinking. That’s why I embrace being unconventional. Bc deep down, I know anyone that is on this kind of path was never supposed to look normal. And honestly… looking at my journey, it all reflects that. I’ve never tried to fit in. I’ve always been obsessed with the future, technology, freedom, and building a life outside the system most people accept. Hate me or love me… this is my life. And while this road comes with a lot of opportunities most people can only dream about… it can also be one of the loneliest paths in the world. But I’d still choose this life every single time.

I’ve always opposed EV mandates, rejected the idea that EVs will save the world, and preferred traditional engines for vehicles like the F-150 I used to drive. That said, it’s clear that Teslas are absolutely top-notch products. It’s not hard to see how they’ve developed a dedicated following.

Today is the start of a very important day in the AI world... the trial between Elon and Sam/OpenAI begins today in Oakland Federal Court. The jury selection is happening right now in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and opening arguments are expected Tuesday. The civil jury trial is projected to last 2-4 weeks, with Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers making the final call. So let me tell you why this fight all came about. 1/ In 2015 Elon co-founded OpenAI with Sam Altman and others as a nonprofit to develop artificial general intelligence safely and openly for the benefit of all humanity... this was supposed to NOT be for profit or for closed corporate control. Elon was a major early funder, contributing around $38-44 million (~60% of early seed funding) plus resources like compute and recruiting. 2/ Then, Elon left the board in 2018 over disagreements for the direction of the company and Microsoft’s growing role of the company. 3/ Later, OpenAI took billions from Microsoft, restructured with a for-profit arm, initially “capped profit,” now more commercial... went closed-source in practice, and exploded in value with ChatGPT. FYI, the current valuation of OpenAI now sits at ~$852 billion and the company recently completed restructuring with a for-profit entity reporting into a nonprofit foundation. Now, with the trial, Elon is saying Altman, Brockman, and OpenAI breached the founding charitable trust and agreement by turning it into a “wealth machine” that prioritizes profits and insiders over the original mission. He claims they deceived him about their plans... This lawsuit was originally filed in November 2024, was withdrawn, and then revived in early 2026. And just this Friday, April 24, Elon voluntarily dropped the fraud claims to “streamline” the case and keep the jury focused on the mission issue... proceeding on breach of charitable trust and unjust enrichment. This is what Elon is looking to get back from Sam and OpenAI: a/ substantial damages, with stakes in the $100B+ range, with many reports saying it's in the range of ~$134B and the winnings will be given to the nonprofit/charity arm and will NOT benefit Elon personally b/ possible unwinding/restructuring to restore the original nonprofit mission c/ leadership changes (e.g., getting rid of Altman/Brockman from key roles). On the other side, OpenAI is claiming: a/ Elon knew about and once supported commercialization steps, saying he even explored merging with Tesla or gaining control himself b/ OpenAI calls the suit competitive sabotage from rival Elon's company xAI and says this is driven by jealousy over OpenAI’s success This is SUCH an important trial in the world of AI... people may not fully understand. The reason is bc Elon has repeatedly warned that profit-driven, closed-source AGI is very dangerous. This is his chance to enforce the original “benefit humanity” mission he helped create and walked away from in 2018. A big win will hurt OpenAI’s valuation, upcoming IPO plans, Microsoft partnership, and market dominance/customer perspective of the company... and this will also force real changes in how the world’s leading AI lab operates, influencing the entire AI race and future regulations. For me, Sam Altman straight up CANNOT be trusted with the future of AGI, and this trial proves why Elon was right to fight it. This is the same guy who got fired by his own board in 2023 for not being “consistently candid,” then crawled back in and turned the nonprofit “open for humanity” promise into a closed-source, Microsoft-bankrolled profit machine worth hundreds of billions. Elon was the one who put up the early cash and vision to keep AI safe and beneficial for all of us... not to create a trillion-dollar insider club. If Altman gets away with rewriting the rules after the fact, it sets a dangerous precedent that mission-driven tech is just marketing fluff. I believe Elon isn’t doing this for ego or rivalry... he’s really doing it bc someone has to hold the line before profit-over-people AGI becomes unstoppable. This one’s personal for the man who actually wants to understand the universe instead of just cashing in on it. Humanity needs Elon to win. And that's who I'm rooting for!
