Ex-police officer Gary Parkinson, 45, jailed for six years and four months for running county lines drug ring from Manchester to rural Devon
The former Greater Manchester Police officer, who left the force due to injury, set up the operation trafficking cocaine to Crediton between November 2019 and January 2020.
Over just seven weeks the ring supplied two kilograms of cocaine with a street value of £160,000.
Parkinson funded the drugs while a co-conspirator made nine separate trips driving the cocaine from Hyde in Greater Manchester down to Devon, where it was sold by a local dealer.
He was arrested with £7,000 in cash and a customer debt list showing amounts from £11,700 to £2,500.
At Exeter Crown Court Judge Stephen Climie described it as a “very serious offence”, noting Parkinson’s nearly 15 years of police service.
A Proceeds of Crime hearing is still to take place.
Katie Price fears she’s been ghosted by husband Lee Andrews as he lies low in Dubai villa with secret double life now exposed
Katie, 47, says she hasn’t heard a single word from Lee, 42, since their last dramatic FaceTime call on Wednesday night when he claimed he’d been “captured or arrested” with ties around his hands.
His phone has remained switched off for four full days and Dubai CID confirmed to her he is not in any prison or police station.
Katie now believes he is deliberately hiding in a luxury Dubai villa while his alleged £200,000 loan fraud case (which he strongly denies) and travel ban keep him stuck in the UAE.
She previously branded their marriage a “soap opera” after multiple no-shows for UK TV appearances and brand deals, and was recently seen without her wedding ring.
Lee’s ex-girlfriend has publicly questioned whether the “kidnapping” story was faked, saying he has a history of playing “sick games”.
Katie then took to Instagram to flog her CBD junk because she says she is "overwhelmed with anxiety"
This whole thing sounds fishy..
Heartbroken German Shepherd found tied to a heavy rock and abandoned in the middle of a road
A confused and terrified seven-year-old male German Shepherd was discovered tied to a 60lb cinder block and left alone in the middle of a road in Woodburn, Oregon, last week.
The dog had been abandoned after a violent storm the night before, with heavy rain, thunder and 20mph winds.
He was stuck between a wheel and the sidewalk, desperately pulling the heavy block behind him and whimpering in distress.
Kind-hearted local resident Michael Bartone heard the noise, rushed out with food and water, and sat with the friendly dog for hours hoping his owner would return but nobody came.
Police were called and safely rescued the dog, who was not malnourished but clearly traumatised, before taking him to Marion County Dog Shelter.
Neighbours were left shocked and heartbroken by the cruel act of abandonment.
Resident Michael Bartone said he heard the dog whimpering before spotting him in the road at the 600 block of Willow Avenue
Officers are now appealing for help to identify the dog or his owner, and have asked for any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area.
The German Shepherd remains at the shelter waiting for his family or a new forever home.
