A reporter was skeptical that our gas tax suspension would help farmers. Here’s what I told her: we have to do everything we can to bring down costs.
We have a chance to put hundreds of dollars in the pockets of families & thousands of dollars in the pockets of truckers in the coming months. We can easily afford to do it. My challenge to our opponents on the gas tax suspension: name a good reason why we shouldn’t do it.

Proud to announce a statewide effort to land the United States Space Academy in Dayton, Ohio.
This is where aviation began. Where two bicycle mechanics left the ground at Huffman Prairie and changed the world. Where Ohioans like Neil Armstrong and John Glenn taught America to look up. Where more than two dozen astronauts have called home. Where America’s first astronauts — the Mercury Seven — were put through their final testing in 1959. To this day, America’s astronauts come to @WrightPattAFB for training at the 711th Human Performance Wing, home of the School of Aerospace Medicine and the military’s only human-rated centrifuge.
Today, Ohio unites to make our case to bring President Trump’s vision for the Space Academy to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and @wrightstate — the only site with the people, the mission, and the history to secure his legacy.

Grateful to earn endorsements from Ohio’s Corn & Wheat Growers and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, both of which generally don’t endorse in Governor’s races. 🙏

When Ohioans are struggling to make ends meet, government shouldn’t make it worse. I commend @VivekGRamaswamy and our legislative leaders for offering a smart plan to temporarily suspend the state gas tax, while still protecting our long-term investment in state infrastructure.
As a former Senate Transportation Committee chair, I know our highways, roads and bridges are the backbone of Ohio’s economy. But roads don’t matter much if you can’t afford to drive on them.
Fortunately, Vivek has laid out a proposal to hold our transportation priorities harmless while helping Ohioans with some much-needed relief at the pump. As Auditor of State, I’ll partner with him to aggressively pursue Medicaid fraud and other government waste that will help cover the cost of this critical relief plan. Let’s get to work on helping Ohioans get to work.

The reason I’ve been working hard with our legislative leaders on a plan to suspend the Ohio fuel tax is the same as why I asked them to put Issue 3 on the ballot this November: our actions speak louder than words. We have to fight for the citizens who entrust us with power. That’s the only way forward for Ohio Republicans & it’ll be a new dawn in January.

Charlie will go down in history as the most inspirational American of our generation to patriots who were in search of higher purpose. It was the honor of my life to travel with him to colleges across the country, to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with him as we faced tough questions, and to watch him do it with a grounded calm & aplomb that only a rare few can muster. His assassination was a tragedy, and we owe it to our nation to always remember this lesson from his death: words are not violence, violence is violence, and violence is never an acceptable response to words. Please honor Charlie’s legacy & pray for his family today.
