Travel pool report 7: Kentucky rally starts
POTUS took the stage at Northern Kentucky University at 2:18 pm. He's wearing a dark suit, white shirt, and light blue tie. No cap. Greenwood anthem "God Bless the USA" is playing. Arena is mostly full, but there are some empty seats.
He began speaking at 2:20. Hello to Kentucky. He brags that he won the state all three times. "I won 118 out of 120 counties, that's not bad." Says he's proud of Ed Gallrein, who defeated Rep. Tom Massie in 4th congressional district, where we are.
Also praises Andy Barr, the GOP nominee for Senate. "I'd say he'll be the absolute best, but that will cause me a lot of problems."
At 2:23, a protester is removed, crowd boos. Before the rally began, a protester wearing a "F*** ICE" shirt was also removed.
"Look at all the fake news back there!" he said, pointing to TV cameras in back. Crowd boos.
"Now they'll say 'massive protest against President Trump at the big Kentucky rally.'"
"Just across the river, we're going to elect Jon Husted to the US Senate…He's a humble guy, I've always like him, he's quiet and respectful. Good looking guy…" Introduced him once to Jon Gruden, who explained that they played football together (at the University of Dayton)…. "He has a very good chance of beating a failed candidate, Sherrod Brown…" "Jon Husted should do well, but you never know in politics." "One of my best races was my second race and we won."
Points to the Front Row Joes POTUS says he thinks they have gone to 712 rallies.
"In this election, I'm asking you to pretend I'm on the ballot."
