APPLE’S NEW CEO PUSHES YEAR-ROUND PRODUCT LAUNCHES, LEANER ORG Apple $AAPL CEO John Ternus is moving to reshape the company just weeks into the role, with a focus on faster product development, fewer management layers and more frequent product launches, Bloomberg reports. Apple is considering moving away from its traditional spring and fall release schedule and launching products throughout the year instead. The company has also started cutting engineering program manager roles, including several senior directors, as Ternus looks to reduce layers between engineers and senior leadership. AI is part of the efficiency push as well. Apple explored a plan to cut roughly 5,000 AppleCare workers by using AI-powered phone and web agents, although that plan was later put on hold. At the same time, Apple is preparing a large product pipeline for next year, including camera-equipped AirPods, its first smart glasses and a redesigned iPhone for the device’s 20th anniversary. Ternus and Apple’s leadership team are also looking for new sources of revenue as Services growth slows, while some teams are being asked to keep headcount flat and reduce spending. Source: Bloomberg
