Last Halloween, my Cybertruck using FSD got me to Cedars-Sinai just in time as my oxygen was dropping rapidly into the low 70s. 120 days later as an inpatient I received a heart transplant that changed my life… No ambulance would take me directly there from Ojai. I simply would’ve died. The hospital agreed. I owe my life to the CyberTruck and its FSD!

A number of people asked what that Halloween night drive felt like. This became the last drive I’d ever take with my original heart. This story about Waymo’s being towed in San Francisco running out of power during July 4th gridlock demonstrates a large further advantage why the video-only (without Lidar) “visionary” thinking by Elon Musk is by far the right way to do FSD. As Elon says, LiDAR should not be necessary with the right speed of AI and the vision-only training on billions of miles of Tesla drivers. But here is another clear advantage of not using LiDAR. If a Tesla Robotaxi model Y is sitting in gridlock, we all know that the power consumption, is near zero. You can sit in traffic almost forever without losing power. The fact that these Waymo’s ran out of power and needed to be towed in gridlock is likely because the LiDAR uses at least 10 to 20 extra Watts 100% of the time. If they sit in traffic long enough, they will all indeed lose power. This is a huge advantage for the future success of the Tesla Robotaxi model. @Elonmusk @Tesla @robotaxi
