The Ironwood migration is not just a routine upgrade; it can prove that Zcash can restore the mathematically verifiable integrity of the ZEC supply. Through formal verification (using Lean) of the new shielded pool and the patched turnstile mechanism from Orchard, Zcash closes undetected counterfeiting loopholes. After the migration, anyone running a full node can verify for themselves that the circulating supply of ZEC is secure and compliant with the rules.
