Anytime I see someone coming at @toritrades for trading with trend lines, I laugh. I don’t know what course she sells, what she charges for it, or whether it’s worth buying. I don’t get a commission, and I don’t really give a shit. This isn’t an endorsement of her business. It’s an endorsement of the tool everyone keeps mocking. Trend lines are responsible for roughly 50% of the results you’ve seen me produce. Go back through the last 10 years of price action. If you know how to draw trend lines and, more importantly, have defined rules behind how you draw them, nearly every major bottom will have some relationship to one. The problem isn’t trend lines. The problem is drawing them arbitrarily, having no system behind them, and then blaming the tool when your crayon doesn’t predict the future. Tori and I may not draw them the same way. We may have completely different rules. But I want to make one thing clear: A systematic approach to trend lines is responsible for half of what you’ve watched me accomplish. So keep talking shit about Tori and her trend lines.
