xiaomi built a phone company into a car company in four years. vw has been making cars since 1937 and is closing german plants.
eu car companies have maybe 5 years. tariffs on chinese evs are the only thing holding the line and tariffs don’t fix a cost base. the only european brands that survive this are the ones people buy for the badge, ferrari, lamborghini, porsche. everything in the middle gets replaced
