This is pure Western projection dressed up as analysis. Demanding China become “ruthless enough” or turn into a shark is just another absurd purity test. It’s the Empire measuring China by its own historical playbook: dominate, police the planet, bomb, lecture, and wipe out whoever stands in the way. China has no interest in becoming the next world policeman. That role is a Western invention — and a trap. Multipolarity is not China replacing the United States. It is the deliberate rejection of any single power claiming the right to rule the globe. China builds quietly, trades, develops, and refuses to take the bait of becoming another empire that lives by permanent confrontation. History is full of powers that thought neutrality or restraint equalled weakness. China studied that history carefully — and chose a different path. Strategy over performative toughness. Results over slogans. The Empire still can’t process that another civilizational state can rise without copying its methods. China doesn’t need to become a shark. It just needs to keep being China.
