I’m just glad and relieved he got through that. And credit to Belal for taking it.
Ben Askren shares his thoughts after his retirement match at RAF 11: "I think it was a great ending. If you were writing a script for a movie, maybe it would've been a better ending if I'd been able to hang on to the lead, but I did the very best I could. I started from such a low point, it's hard to even describe. At one point, I couldn't stand up under my own power. If you can imagine how low that is, then when I started working out, the kind of tired I felt was different from anything I'd ever experienced in my life. I couldn't say this before the match because I obviously didn't want Belal to know the strategy to beat me, but my legs won't go hard for six minutes. So unless I could keep the pace low, be really crafty, or force him into positions where he had to shoot, I knew it was going to be a really tough night."

The other thing is, how do people look at the assortment of islands right there in the middle of the Mediterranean and go, well surely that was an ethnically homogenous population that never encountered anyone of a different skin pigment?

My dude The Odyssey is an ancient myth. There are monsters and shit throughout. It is not a “historical film.” Also as far as we know Homer wasn’t stopping every other line to specify what races the characters were.

This trend where every movie has to feature people of all races—even historical films set in places where only one race existed—is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in cinema.

That’s a weird way to think, man. You don’t have to be like that.
Kamaru Usman says he can't look Justin Gaethje in the eyes now that he's the champion. "Unfortunately, I still have to look down when I talk to Justin because he's the world champion now, and unfortunately, I wasn't victorious tonight, so I have to live with that a little more." ( via @ufc )

It’s such a popular sport that you only ever hear about it when the wealthy owners are talking about how popular and profitable it is. Not how good it is, mind you. Or how incredible the athletes (lol) are. It’s the lone sports story that is somehow ONLY a business story.

Discussing it with my family on the ride home we agreed that the actors must have gotten totally sick of how many ‘back to the ships!!!’ scenes they had to shoot. Some guys did nothing in this movie EXCEPT run back to the ships.
