In the Colorado startup community, you’ll meet many people who talk about a “Give-First” philosophy. Give-First means experienced entrepreneurs and mentors give a little time to help new entrepreneurs in small ways, without expecting anything in return. It’s usually small gestures like reviewing a pitch deck, taking a call, grabbing coffee, etc. The important point is that we don’t expect anything in return. We do it because: 1) we were all new entrepreneurs at one point and needed all the help we could get, 2) it helps the ecosystem grow, 3) we’ve made a new friend, and 4) kind gestures are often paid forward or returned. You don’t need to demand something in return to get something in return. I always enjoy meeting people with a Give-First attitude in the @solana ecosystem — there are a lot of great people here, and we should all work hard to preserve a culture friendly to new developers. If you see me at an event, feel free to say ‘Hi.’ I’ll be curious to learn what you are working on, and I won’t ask for anything in return. That’s it, that’s the Tweet. Golden Eggs (pt. 1) This interview with @nickducoff and @TFGolden is the most important interview you'll hear this year. Your weekend homework is to listen and truly understand the impact of Internet Capital Markets (ICM) on @solana. @BaillieGifford's tokenized fund is a bigger deal than you think because it's not a tokenized wrapper around an off-chain fund. The entire fund is on-chain. The ledger is the source of truth for ownership, and each token is an actual security. The UK regulators recognize the tokens as regulated securities and expect them to be handled in accordance with UK securities laws. @Backpack, @sunrise, and others are also doing great work to bring tokenized stocks onto Solana. Our collective vision for ICM is coming to fruition. In the interview, Theo says, "whenever we do anything in crypto, we have to treat crypto folks with the respect that they deserve, and that respect is the same respect we give to our largest traditional finance clients..." For ICM and defi in general, to truly succeed, we must demonstrate that Solana is fully decentralized, credibly neutral, and superior to traditional markets. We must be better, faster, cheaper, and safer! It's our job as builders to make that happen. I'll share more thoughts about "Golden Eggs" soon.
