Our points-based immigration system was once the envy of the world. ✈️🇨🇦
Today, it disproportionately rewards qualifications prior to arrival and leaves new immigrants to navigate on their own, with 1 in 5 leaving within 25 years.
An overhaul of the system focused on continuously evaluating immigrants’ contributions (ex. paying taxes, earning trade certifications, starting a business, volunteering, etc.) will help create a system where the most productive members of our communities stay and earn citizenship.
