As a portion of the total 2024-2025 federal budget, foreign aid accounted for 2.35%. Prior to the Russia-Ukraine war, it was 1.27%.
Generally speaking, most Canadian foreign aid is delivered to the World Bank, UN agencies, the Red Cross, and other NGOs, research organizations, and contractors rather than governments. โ๏ธ

Our points-based immigration system was once the envy of the world. โ๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ
Today, it disproportionately rewards qualifications prior to arrival and leaves new immigrants to navigate on their own, with 1 in 5 leaving within 25 years.
An overhaul of the system focused on continuously evaluating immigrantsโ contributions (ex. paying taxes, earning trade certifications, starting a business, volunteering, etc.) will help create a system where the most productive members of our communities stay and earn citizenship.
