Interfaces that are generated, not coded. Excited to finally share Solaris. Video is the universal interface. Eventually, all UI will be chat and gestures in, chat and video out. Solaris opens new ways to build websites, apps and other interfaces. And most importantly, it gives new ways to train agents in much more dynamic environments.

Heard a crazy stat the other day. Video generation represents around 70% of the share of AI token consumption in China. A combination of short form content and robotics. In China, video models are growing much faster than Claude Code grew in the America. America is LLM-pilled. China is World-Model-Pilled.

Today is my 4th year anniversary at Runway. Grateful for a job where I'm still learning new things four years in while surrounded by smart and humble people. You could have this too.
Runway is officially coming to LATAM. Last month, we visited our customers in Brazil, and now it’s Chile 🇨🇱 We’re meeting with some of the most important companies and customers in Chile and also with @GobiernodeChile. We also have a few community events, so if you’re there, make sure to join us. LATAM is becoming an incredibly important user base for Runway. We’re already in Japan, France, and the UK, and we’ll continue our global expansion to make sure Runway reaches every corner of the world. Dos chilenos de vuelta a su país @matamalaortiz

you can basically explain the entire economy and the behavior of people by asking which policy they are betting on. to either exploit the current best known thing and hope nothing changes or explore new frontiers.

One of the most anticipated and requested features in nearly 8 years of building Runway is finally here. Sorry it took so long. 16-bit HDR in ProRes and EXR sequences is here FOR ANY VIDEO MODEL IN RUNWAY. Pretty excited to get this one out, and this is just the beginning. The next few weeks are going to be packed.

Introducing Runway Ruby. A new model that converts SDR video up to 16-bit HDR in ProRes and EXR sequences. Compatible with any existing uploaded video or generated output up to 30s.

What’s coming from Runway might be among the most consequential releases we’ve ever made. The team is working on so many exciting things, pretty excited and can’t wait for you all to see what’s coming over the next few weeks and months.

Runway Dev has become the default API for all media generation needs. Focus on outcomes.
Get the right model on every API call with the Model Router, available on Runway Dev. You set what a generation can cost, which models are off the table and what "best" means for your task: fastest, cheapest or highest quality. The Model Router picks within your rules, so you don't have to evaluate 40+ models yourself.

Video is the final interface. I really mean this, it will all just be video at the end.
Eventually, all UI will be chat and gestures in, chat and video out.
More open weights frontier for generative media, more...
impossible to not think of @c_valenzuelab's excellent blog "we are solving graphics backwards" in it, he argues that in traditional computer graphics the progression was control → quality. and that generative ai reverses that, where we start with quality and have to add control my spin to it is that to tinker with a precise level of control going "backwards" from quality, we need to tinker with the weights. that's why i'm so excited about open weights frontier generative media like MiniMax H3

"AI is a new kind of camera. It's a camera that allows you to not only record the real world, but technically any world that you want." Runway CEO Cristóbal Valenzuela is already changing how Hollywood makes movies. But generating video is just the beginning. "Language models are great, but are not trained on reality. They have not seen physics before. What we're doing is we're training on reality. We're training on simulating reality." By understanding the laws of physics, Runway’s AI is moving beyond screens to become the brains for autonomous robots. A fascinating look at the true future of AI Full Interview is here 👉 @c_valenzuelab @runwayml
