Then, he "accidentally" sent around explicit requests for cash payments ("in American dollars or Israeli shekels") to numerous Israelis, only to then claim -- once he found out POLITICO was reporting it -- that it was all a big accident and he only meant to send it to family and friends for his wedding, but somehow it ended up being sent to rich and powerful Israelis. Hard to be such a "young man" plagued with such misfortune.

When the White House opens its doors to the press, it must comply with the First Amendment. The president is as free as any other person to criticize media coverage. But he can’t ban outlets from the White House just because he doesn’t like their reporting or commentary. Press credentials aren’t a reward for loyalty to the government. A free, even adversarial, press is a sign of our country’s strength. The public deserves to hear about its government from independent voices, not just its leader’s loyalists and allies.

Like most of Trump's attacks on free speech and a free press, this WH ban will be quickly stayed and then invalidated by courts on the obvious ground that it constitutes state punishment due to dislike of their reporting. These outlets are chronic spreaders of lies, but that's not for the government to decide or regulate.
