Mira’s fourth trip to space is taking the upgraded spacecraft even further. 🛰️
LEO Express 4 is an Impulse-only mission designed to expand Mira’s flight heritage. The mission will test new maneuvers and operating conditions while validating upgrades across propulsion, avionics, and our in house star trackers.

Two Miras — less than 200 meters apart!
Our LEO Express 2 and LEO Express 3 spacecraft recently met for a family reunion in orbit, following a series of carefully coordinated maneuvers that brought the two vehicles within approximately two football fields of each other.
The operation put Mira's flight-proven agility to work, with our GNC, propulsion, and mission ops teams executing multiple complex maneuvers and close approaches along the way.

Electra has high fuel efficiency to perform stationkeeping and long-duration maneuvers that preserve chemical propellant for the rapid maneuvers that define the Mira spacecraft.
The result is greater operational flexibility and more mission capability from a single spacecraft.

"Under Lane 1, Impulse Space will contract with the Space Force to provide end-to-end service, procuring a launch vehicle and then stacking the Helios stage and designated satellite into the payload fairing of the rocket."
That's what Helios was built for: rapid, cost-effective delivery to high-energy orbits. The Space Force added Impulse to its National Security Space Launch Lane 1 bidder pool this week, opening the door to compete for a share of $5.6 billion in contracts through 2029. First flight targeted for 2027.

We’re proud to support the United States Space Force as part of the NSSL Phase 3 Lane 1 program. By on-ramping Helios, Impulse will be the first-ever upper stage provider to serve as a prime on the program.
