They standardize how money functions - accounts become wallets, payment methods become transfers. The same logic works across every jurisdiction. That makes software much simpler to build on top of. True for developers. True for AI too. AI will generate a wave of API-based payment demand that traditional rails weren't built for. An agent running a global business doesn't need a bank account - it needs programmable money that settles instantly, works across borders, and doesn't need to ask for permission. Agentic payments are still early. But when AI starts running global businesses autonomously - what else would it use?
