One thing the movies seriously underestimated was how funny book Harry could be. Movie Harry is often quiet and serious, but book Harry could be incredibly sarcastic, especially when dealing with Draco, Snape and the Dursleys. Imagine getting that version of Harry throughout the entire movie series.
