Propaganda v/s reality A misleading rumour is circulating that the Assam government is reducing the Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) around Kaziranga National Park from 10 km to 1 km. The fact is that the Assam government is not reducing the Kaziranga Eco-Sensitive Zone. It is, for the first time, formally notifying the 1-3 kilometer Eco-Sensitive Zone boundary, following Supreme Court orders. Default rules were applied simply because the limitations were not communicated in advance.
