He is the second US academic to be given this legal designation in recent months. Dr Youlin Chen has also been designated. Statement from Chen's wife Dr. Yufang Rong via Global Reach: "Both Youlin and Min Zin are academics who are widely respected in their fields. China says it wants academic collaboration, but then it arrests academics on false charges.”
