Protesters want stronger tenant protections after 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal was evicted. About 30,000 marched Saturday, and more protests are planned across Spain today.

Maricarmen Abascal paid €500 in rent until a developer bought her building and demanded €1,650-2,650 a month, despite her €1,350 pension and disability.
The UN asked Spain to halt the eviction, but on the fourth try, she got an hour to pack and was carried out on a stretcher. About 500 people protested, including actors. Protesters want officials to resign or her keys back.

🇳🇱 A Gaza student in the Netherlands was suspended after claiming on video that he took part in the Oct. 7 attack.
Maastricht University suspended the 22-year-old over a since-deleted Instagram video where he pointed at masked men in attack footage and said: "This is me."
The university cited concern and unrest among students. It had helped him get his residence permit. Police haven't opened a criminal case, saying the video isn't enough.
