NYC Emergency Management(@nycemergencymgt):New Yorkers can now register early to become Emergency Snow Shovelers and help keep bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and other critical public spaces clear during major winter weather. This year, Snow Shovelers will earn $30 per hour, increasing to $45 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week. New Yorkers who register before Nov. 30 will also be eligible for a paid orientation in December and expedited payment processing. The first @NYCsanitation registration event will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 AM to 5 PM at Taft High School, 240 East 172nd Street in the Bronx. Learn more:
