A closing performance | Friday, June 19, 6pm
'Between the Retina' is a performance piece developed in relation to Lived Montage,
@goki_muramoto's original goggle-based work featured in the exhibition, which cinematically shares participants’ fields of vision.
For this closing performance, Muramoto is joined by artist Yeseul Song as a guest performer. Through goggle-like apparatuses, Muramoto, Song, and audience members form a live cinematic field in which vision is switched and recomposed in real time through attention and blinking.
The experience of watching a film generated in real time from nothing but the eyes and eyelids of Goki Muramoto, Yeseul Song, and audience members, while directly facing the material bodies that produce it, forces into view the visual relationships among cinema, theater, and everyday life, while directly confronting the question of a path toward another person’s perspective.
