I love when a movie has a premise so big and stupid that everybody talks about it, unrelated to the movie. The purge, old, one night only, etc. This is how culture should be. stupid hypotheticals
confusing that it can be easy to discern sounds in person but if the same sounds are recorded the noise is much harder to filter out. Because...you have two ears and there was only one microphone? Or something about the acoustics of your head? It should be the same sounds, right?

I don't like it when people say a given emotion is "appropriate". Im not sure any emotion (except, perhaps, gaiety) is ever appropriate. Or they all are. How could you imagine deciding! Feels like meaningless comfort pablum of the usual sort

i mostly buy music so it shows up in my itunes library as a "permanent" record of which music i really like. which is. objectively stupid? but i havent come up with a better system. just keeping a list on my computer is too "low cost", it would get filled with cruft

i think never having been a cisgender adult gives me a somewhat idealized conception of what it's like. of course the essential fact is that there is no "what it's like".
i dont usually get nightmares, from my vague sense my dreams are pretty consistently pleasant. i think this might mean i have a fundamentally well-adjusted psyche. and all the other stuff is cruft on top. i'm Normal

sometimes someone being unpleasant is so deeply their personality that it doesnt even feel like their fault. like theyre just like that. do you begrudge the mosquito his buzz?
