🇵🇰 76% of Pakistan’s Youth Back New Provinces: The Debate Has Moved From Politics to Public Mandate According to I CUBE3’s nationwide youth-pulse analysis of 98,368 unique records, covering 31 July to 20 September 2026, there is strong support for additional provinces: • 76% support new provinces • 24% oppose them among those expressing a firm view Regional support: • Punjab — 79% • KP — 75% • Islamabad — 74% • Balochistan — 71% • Sindh — 59% The survey finds that support is being driven primarily by better governance, accessible government services, faster development, manageable administration and fairer representation, rather than partisan politics. • The message from the youth is: bring government closer to the people. • Pakistan’s provinces are very large, which can mean distant capitals, slower services, weaker representation and less accountability. • Smaller provinces could potentially make government easier to reach and more responsive. • The survey argues that political parties should not decide the future of provincial restructuring through closed-door negotiations alone, particularly when young people who will live with the system for decades are expressing strong support for change. • However, support is not the same across all regions, and this regional variation matters. • The survey therefore puts public consent at the center of the debate and proposes a referendum as a direct test of public opinion. • Political institutions would still have to address boundaries, constitutional changes, costs and safeguards. • The broader question raised is whether Pakistan should create new provinces and whether that fundamental question should be decided directly by the people.
