You don't need to be a 3D artist to start building 3D websites anymore 💛 Built this cool 3D jet drone website in @threejs using Claude Opus 5 and @tripoai in < 1 hour. A lot of people still think AI is great for generating code, but not for building something that actually feels polished and interactive or "complex". But it has been changing super fast these days. The model you see here is only 946KB, compressed from its original 13.6MB size automatically by Claude without losing any quality. This kind of intelligence has been developed in many other AI tools for anything related to 3D (except GPT 5.6 sol lol). You just have to describe what you want and they handle everything "engineerly" (that's not even a word but okay :D) Anyway, also you don't really have to learn anything about 3D modeling to create these models. All you need is a good image and put it in Tripo. For this case, i generated model using "smart mesh" feature that generated a cleaner low-poly topology and edge flow. That helps keep your actual 3D asset even more lightweight. Earlier, with HD model feature, my model size with 8k texture was around 60-70MB but with Smart Mesh, it's around 13-16MB with 8k texture applied separately. Of course, this isn't something I knew from the beginning. All I did was "try" out different features and see what happens. Live: Code: Design:

The unexpected benefit of open source is that it allows model training companies to train on using your software (and optimizing it) for free. Blender may have just won as a 3D asset creation software because the models will be better at using it than any proprietary ones

With newly added Gaussian splat tools like TripoSplat image-to-splat, @OTOY Studio makes it possible to rapidly turn a single image into a real-time volumetric 3D asset and carry it into a broader production workflow. Here I generated a sand castle splat in OTOY Studio, brought it into @SplatPaintApp for real-time procedural FX, imported it into Cinema 4D to build an X-Particles system, and then exported the animated splat sequence into Octane Standalone for final relighting and rendering. Image → splat → real-time FX → X-Particles → animated splat sequence → Octane render. The full animation can seamlessly be sent to @rendernetwork for scalable rendering without changing the core workflow. Rapid iteration, real-time creative control, and a direct path into production VFX. Explore the tools at:

Tesla’s alleged Optimus v3 — found inside the Tesla Android app APK 🤩 First thing that stands out: zero exposed actuators or messy wiring harnesses. Unlike Gen 2 or 2.5, every joint is sealed behind sleek, flexible shrouds—a huge deal for factory floor safety to eliminate pinch hazards, plus a massive upgrade for IP ratings against dust and grime. The torso shifts to a single, monolithic shell. This screams lightweight RIM composite rather than stamped metal, tightly packaging the 2.3 kWh battery pack and central compute stack without unnecessary seams or panel gaps. Check out the forearm bulk versus the slim wrists. Tesla clearly relocated the hand actuators up into the arm, relying on tendon-driven linkages to give the fingers higher degrees of freedom while drastically slashing inertia at the fingertips. Same story down low: tapered calves and minimal, boot-like feet. Slashing mass at the extremities cuts motor torque demands at the knees and hips, which should translate to a far smoother, more natural walking gait. Even factoring in the simplified geometry of an in-app 3D asset, the leap from an R&D test mule to a finished product is night and day. The two-tone styling and refined proportions signal Optimus is rapidly converging on its true production form factor.

A BIG update for img2threejs. It’s been almost 2 months since I launched img2threejs. After a lot of experiments, feedback, and seeing where people struggle, I realized there are some changes we simply have to make if we want this project to go much further. So here’s what’s changing: / 01 / A new ROADMAP: from one pipeline → a plugin-able ecosystem This is the biggest change. Reconstruction, environments, rigging, animation, VFX/SFX, exporters, providers… shouldn’t be locked inside one giant workflow. The goal is to make img2threejs modular: use what you need, replace what you don’t, build your own workflow, and eventually your own plugins. I believe this is the right foundation for img2threejs to grow from an open-source project into an ecosystem. Read the new Roadmap → / 02 / Playground The simplest way to use img2threejs: upload an image → wait ~10 minutes → get your 3D asset. Export to different 3D formats or directly to pure Three.js code. / 03 / Studio This is for those who want full control. Watch img2threejs build in real time: Nano → Texture → Rigging → Animation → VFX/SFX → Export. Configure, inspect, and control the workflow instead of only receiving the final result. / 04 / A new Landing Page Cleaner, easier, and actually more useful. You’ll be able to copy prompts directly, explore examples, and export assets for Blender or your own workflow. I’m trying to wrap up as much of the annoying work as possible animation, rigging, textures, exporters, so you can focus on building. / 05 / Official YouTube Many of you have asked how these showcases are actually built, and X simply isn’t the right place for a 20–40 minute walkthrough haha. I’ll start sharing full step-by-step workflows, experiments, tutorials, and project updates here: YouTube → And one more thing… Tomorrow at 13:00 UTC - img2threejs × GPT-6 Astra. A new exclusive showcase is coming. I’ve spent enough time with img2threejs that I thought it was getting difficult to surprise myself anymore, but this one did. To everyone who tested img2threejs, contributed code, reported bugs, shared feedback, created something with it, sponsored us, became a partner, or simply told me to keep going - thank you, truly. A lot of what you see in this new direction comes directly from those conversations. We’re still very early, and there’s still a ridiculous amount of work ahead, but I’m really excited about where this is going. If you’re building in AI, 3D, graphics, or creative tools and this direction makes sense to you, I’d love to connect. Maybe we can build something together haha. Community: Support: Same vision. Bigger possibilities. — Nick
