Watch master artisans stitch Xiabu Embroidery live at Xinyu Ramie Embroidery Museum — glossy silk threads glide across textured natural ramie fabric, turning the coarse “China grass” cloth into delicate, ink-wash style artworks.
This national intangible cultural heritage from Jiangxi is being carefully passed to a new generation. The museum’s artisan team has trained a group of young craftspeople, running introductory and interest courses for students from primary to high school. In partnership with local universities, they cultivate professional inheritors of the craft, with over 100 students now taking part in the program.
It’s living heritage, stitch by stitch.
