I was stunned to see the Naval Postgraduate School (@NPS_Monterey) doing a special issue on UAP. Another small example of the progress being made in winning acceptance for the validity and importance of UAP for national security and science.

This is tied to the pool’s high-profile 2026 renovation (including a blue liner/coating for America’s 250th anniversary), which has faced ongoing issues like algae blooms, peeling, and reported vandalism/tampering. Current Status (as of June 23–24, 2026) • Workers are putting up temporary chain-link fencing to secure the site during further repairs, cleaning (e.g., hydrogen peroxide and nanobubble treatments), and to limit public access/tampering.

Keith Rabois explains his "formula for startup success" In 2017, Rabois had a tweet that went viral. It read: “Formula for startup success: Find large highly fragmented industry w low NPS; vertically integrate a solution to simplify value product.” In this interview, he argues that fragmented and low-NPS industries have created massive opportunities for many of the world’s most successful companies: “If you have a fragmented industry there’s usually structural reasons why, and a bad NPS means customers are not delighted.” He uses ride sharing companies, such as Uber and Lyft, as an example. The taxi industry was both highly fragmented and had a low NPS, which created an opportunity for Uber and Lyft to simplify the value proposition and stitch together a smooth experience in a vertically integrated way. Square is another example he cites. He continues: “I love vertically integrated businesses. They are difficult to build but they’re more successful if they work. Think Apple… What I learned growing up was that in any industry if you want to be successful, you emulate people who are successful. I shorted $USDKRW at the peak and covered on the rebound. Since re-entering the short, my unrealized gains have continued to grow. With the large leveraged foreign positions previously accompanied by long-KRW FX hedges now largely absent, capital inflows and outflows over the past two months have had little impact on the won. Meanwhile, the Bank of Korea has been strongly encouraging exporters to hedge their FX exposure. The resulting dollar selling has taken the place of strategic hedging by the National Pension Service (NPS), which more or less stopped after USD/KRW reached 1,350. From here, I expect the next leg in USD/KRW to be lower, so I will maintain a small core short until offshore interest picks up. Holding longer-dated positions that benefit from a decline in USD/KRW also makes sense: current-account flows and exporter hedging are expected to increase and persist over the next few years, while the Bank of Korea appears comfortable with a stronger won for now. South Korea also faces a risk of domestic divergence similar to China’s: the energy crisis could weaken domestic fundamentals even as exports continue to boom. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has already expressed concern about rising yields and may conduct open-market operations and bond buybacks if it sees signs of market dysfunction.
