Space‑based power systems are becoming one of the most decisive enablers of evolving orbital operations. Many national‑security missions rely on dependable energy in orbit, yet traditional rigid composite solar arrays remain slow to procure, expensive to scale, and difficult to adapt as needs evolve. Redwire's Extensible Low-Profile Solar Array (ELSA) was developed to address these challenges, providing an innovative design engineered to minimize stowed volume and mass while preserving performance, accelerating production, and reducing cost. Discover how flight proven heritage meets the next evolution of space power in Redwire's ELSA Mission Report 👉 #SpacePower# #SpaceTechnology# #NationalSecurity# #AerospaceInnovation#

⚡️ Space Tech Brief ⚡️ India’s private space industry is accelerating, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi meeting founders and CEOs from 20 homegrown space startups as the country pushes to become a global space technology hub. India now has roughly 440 registered space startups, compared with just one in 2014. Companies including Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Pixxel, and Dhruva Space are building across launch vehicles, satellites, propulsion systems, space debris management, and other space infrastructure. The meeting highlighted how India’s space sector has expanded beyond its traditionally government-led model. Policy reforms have opened more of the industry to private companies and investment, creating opportunities for startups to participate across the space technology stack. The bigger shift is the emergence of a broader private space ecosystem alongside ISRO. As launch, satellite, and downstream space technologies become increasingly commercialized, India is positioning its growing startup base to compete in the global space economy. TRUMP STATES THAT SPACE TECHNOLOGY IS ASSISTING OUR NAVAL BLOCKADE.
🇺🇸 @SpaceX is pushing the boundaries of space technology with plans for up to 1 million satellites that could bring massive AI computing power into orbit. Reported FCC details show each Starmind AI data center satellite could weigh up to 4,000 kilograms, roughly twice the reported mass of a Starlink V3 satellite. The ambitious proposal marks a potential new chapter for SpaceX: building computing infrastructure in space, not just connecting Earth from above.

I also urged the StartUps to think about how space technology can contribute immensely to agriculture, livestock management, dairy, environment and many other areas that touch everyday lives. They can engage with Atal Tinkering Labs, spark curiosity among schoolchildren and inspire the next generation to participate in the space sector. Our private space ecosystem can become a major force for India and for the world!

We're honored to continue our support of @K2SpaceCo as @KaranKunjur, @neelkunjur, and the entire team close their $500M Series D. K2 is on an important mission to build massive, high-performance satellites across all orbits. These satellites unlock new commercial and government opportunities that will define the future of space. Space is becoming one of the most strategically important technology sectors, and K2 is quickly establishing itself as one of the most innovative teams in this market. They're not assembling a satellite; they're redefining the architecture needed for the next decade of space missions. In just 4 years, K2 has already designed and deployed multiple space technology breakthroughs. Technical diligence in this category is hard, but one of the clearest signals is where the most talented people in the domain choose to go. With K2, that signal was impossible to ignore, and we continue to be amazed by everything this incredible team has accomplished. We're proud to partner with Karan, Neel, and the whole K2 team as they expand the boundaries of what's possible in space. Congratulations 🎉!

NASA Stennis Director Christine Powell, right, participates in a panel discussion during the Mississippi Aerospace and Defense Symposium on Sept. 4. in Flowood, Mississippi. The conversation focused on collaboration between government entities such as the Department of War, and related federal partners, in operation at NASA Stennis. Pictured with Powell, left to right: Jace Ponder, director, Governor’s Office of Military Affairs, Mississippi Development Authority (moderator); Dr. William Burnett, Director, National Data Buoy Center; Dr. Joe Calantoni, Senior Executive Service Technical Director, U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command. The annual symposium is co-hosted by Mississippi Enterprise for Technology and Defense Alliance of Mississippi. It brings together industry, government, academia, and defense leaders to talk about aerospace, defense, space technology, workforce, and economic development in Mississippi. NASA Stennis is America’s largest rocket propulsion test site and functions as a federal city with tenants supporting a wide range of missions, from propulsion testing to information technology and oceanography. The U.S. Navy has a significant presence here, and several aerospace and technology companies and agencies are also located at NASA Stennis.
