The bulk of the damage is done, but there are still assets that are vulnerable to the exploit. I'm doing what I can to sweep what's left but hundreds of scammers are also doing the same. Whether you're affected or not, if you have open approvals to the addresses below, please revoke them. The open approvals can and will be used against you if affected assets are returned to your wallet while they're still open.

At 9AM EST today somebody abused a bug in Payment Processor V2 to steal 10 Meebits, 50 Otherdeeds, 10 WoW, and 235 Desperate Apewives. It wasn't until over 12 hours later that somebody reported it to me, and upon digging in I realized that a great many NFTs were subject to the same exploit. I got in touch with the team over at LimitBreak and they quickly paused Payment Processor V3, which was subject to the same exploit. Unfortunately, V2 was not pausable, so the only path towards protecting affected assets was to run a whitehat operation. Similarly, V3 on ApeChain is temporarily in a state where it cannot be paused, so ApeChain assets approved to V3 needed to be saved as well. All in all, we rescued 23,155 NFTs worth north of $5.7M USD. We later discovered that a similar exploit could be used in reverse to steal WETH. 660 WETH was at risk, which we unfortunately were not fast enough to recover. Apologies to those affected. Shout out to @Boomskite for flagging the initial exploit tx to me, and @coffeedev @0xjustadev and @whiteoakkong for acting quickly and assisting with the recovery. All NFTs are safely relocated. Soon, owners will be able claim them back after revoking the exploitable approvals. Addresses to revoke below.

Hashcats is a fun concept, similar to an idea I've been wanting to put out there for a while. Problem is that it's inherently an automated ponzi, in the classic sense: new mints pay out older minters. Mint price increases with each epoch, and floor must necessarily keep up or else you end up in a death spiral: mint price higher than floor -> people stop minting -> older cats stop getting paid -> they dump -> floor goes lower -> gap widens -> and so on I like the idea and I think one or two small tweaks could produce a genuinely (long term) engaging ecosystem. Might have been the push I needed to dust off my old ideabook

Once you've configured AI with the right toolset and knowledge base, it really is unbelievable. Got pinged about Hashcats while watching Spiderman last night (Tony McGuire, none of that new bullshit). DM'd my laptop on telegram and told it to spin up a new wallet and use my PC's 3090 to run headless mining to grab some hashcats. Gave it no context but it came back a few minutes later to request funds to a new address on Robinhood and an alchemy API key. Woke up this morning to a full monitoring dashboard and a few cats in my wallet. Better than any personal assistant.

Punk is down to 18 eth and continues to drop by 2 eth/day. This is a pretty sweet mechanism for increasing RTP without changing any protocol settings, while at the same time adding a marketing beat for $fwa. Spins become more attractive the lower the punk goes. Protocol fees + backing reductions go towards buying more punks to run the same playbook, making spins even more attractive and so on. I expect somebody is going home with a punk from FWA in the next week or so.
