Despite a record-breaking number of monthly arrests by the Trump administration, with 51,000 arrested in August 2026 alone, the number of monthly deportations have not significantly increased, sitting at about 36,000 a month.
In May, when 19,000 fewer people were arrested, roughly the same number of people were deported. The summer’s arrest boost failed to ensue in a commensurate increase in deportations due to judicial and logistical constraints.
