A major takedown and indictment of 10 alleged members of the Jones-Basley Drug Trafficking Organization was just announced in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The DTO allegedly coordinated with a Mexican drug cartel to transport more than 300 kilos of cocaine from Mexico to Philadelphia.
Greg Jones (the lead defendant shown below) was previously in prison on drug trafficking charges and had his sentence commuted by Joe Biden in 2022.
In total, the takedown seized hundreds of kilograms of cocaine worth over $17 MILLION and multiple firearms from the streets of Philadelphia and the surrounding region.

Elite @FBI and @HSI_HQ Team Transports 18 Defendants from Haiti to South Florida to Face Federal Charges in Assassination of Haitian President in HSTF Takedown
These 18 individuals are among a group of 30 defendants that a Southern District of Florida grand jury indicted for their various roles in the plot to kill the President of Haiti. The charges include an intertwined fraud and money laundering scheme that relied on funds from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) COVID-19 relief program to finance the assassination plot.

The Department of Justice just secured an end to “gender affirming care” for minors at two more hospital systems: NYU and UPMC. Since January 20, 2025 over 40 systems have ended these procedures across the country— including six of the largest systems as a result of @TheJusticeDept lawsuits.
Hospitals that target children in these practices, and then fraudulently obtain payments for the procedures, will be held accountable.

The Afghan national and ISIS-K member who participated in a nearly decade-long conspiracy to provide material support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization was sentenced today to 20 years in prison. His actions contributed to the devastating terrorist attack at Abbey Gate on August 26, 2021, which killed 13 U.S. servicemembers and other civilians.
While the attack occurred in Afghanistan, the Justice Department and our law enforcement partners have remained steadfast in pursuing this terrorist and bringing him to justice on American soil.
Our hearts remain with the families who lost loved ones that day. No sentence can undo their unimaginable loss, but we hope today brings some measure of justice.

These two individuals in Louisiana were charged Friday with Fraudulent Voter Registration and Voting by an Alien. In total, six individuals were charged across three states last week for alleged illegal voting, fraudulent voter registration, and identity fraud. Let this be a reminder that those who seek to undermine the integrity of our elections will be charged accordingly. @TheJusticeDept will continue working to ensure our elections are not corrupted.

Nazira Haji Zada, an Afghan national who was living in Texas, is now permanently inadmissible to the United States after @TheJusticeDept secured her removal in the first-ever case brought before the Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC) because she supported her son and son-in-law’s plot to carry out an ISIS-inspired mass shooting on Election Day in 2024.
This landmark case demonstrates that the Justice Department will use every tool at its disposal to protect the American people. Those who support terrorism have no place in our country.

Today was a historic and deeply meaningful day at @TheJusticeDept as we held a memorial and ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with FDNY Honorary Fire Commissioner Peter Arnell @arnelldesign and America’s Mayor @RudyGiuliani.
I was grateful to stand alongside them, hear their reflections on that tragic day, and recognize their leadership and the important role they’ve played in rebuilding our nation in the years since.
One of our most fundamental responsibilities at the Department of Justice is to carry forward the work of the men and women who have served our country since September 11, 2001. Every day, we must remain steadfast in our mission to protect the American people and ensure that nothing like the attacks of 9/11 ever happens again.

Manjit Bedi was added to our Most Wanted Fraudsters list after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in SNAP benefits from American taxpayers and fleeing to India. In less than one business day, he was in our custody. There is no safe harbor for fraudsters, and there is no head start long enough.

CAPTURED: Another FBI Most Wanted Fraudster.
This is the 5th Most Wanted Fraudster captured since the creation of the new list three months ago – and yet another high value target captured overseas. Subjects captured so far have been responsible for a combined over $2 billion in fraud and were on the run for almost 4,000 days collectively prior to arrest.
MANJIT SINGH BEDI – on the run for nearly a year - was arrested for allegedly defrauding the U.S. of at least $600k in SNAP funds from approximately 2024 to 2025 – orchestrating a scheme out of a grocery store he operated here in the U.S. Bedi was just arrested in India and was believed have fled there sometime last year. FBI is actively working to secure his return to the United States.
Bedi is charged with a series of offenses including wire fraud, SNAP benefits fraud, and more.

This week, sophisticated cyber criminals attempted a password-recovery attack on hundreds of thousands of X users. X disrupted the attack to prevent user accounts from being captured. But, as we’ve shown, the Justice Department will stop at nothing in its pursuit of cyber fraudsters and scammers. We are working closely with @X to track down the criminals behind this week’s attack. A former @FBI Most Wanted Fugitive, Alexis Flores has been extradited to Philadelphia from Honduras to face justice for his alleged involvement in the 2000 kidnapping and murder of 5-year-old Iriana DeJesus.
Thanks to the excellent work of @FBI, @DOJCrimDiv Office of International Affairs, our international partners, and everyone who has fought tirelessly for justice for Iriana and her family over the last 25 years, this violent criminal will finally be held accountable on American soil.
No matter how much time has passed, we will never stop pursuing justice for victims and their families.
