No photograph of the beleaguered children will ever appear on the insta feed of a sympathetic stranger who might pause and think to help. The algorithms will never learn of the Baudelaires' existence. And so the orphans will move through life unseen, unrescued, and entirely dependent on their own resources. Against a villain who is not only free to open as many accounts as he wants, but also actively abetted by the revenue share he earns through them.
