Would you offer them biscuits and gravy every good Southern woman would!
Some of you may agree with this evening reflection. I hope you all have a very restful Monday night.
Very unpopular opinion
At 72, I remember when women were told whole careers were “not for us,” and some couldn’t even get a credit card without a man attached to their name.
I don’t expect women, half my age or any man to understand what we have been through. If we did well, we were accused of screwing our way to the top, even though we performed our jobs admirably with no sexual favors
In the United States, many women effectively needed a husband, father, or other male co-signer to get a credit card or loan until the mid-1970s.
The major turning point was the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, passed in 1974. That law made it illegal for lenders to discriminate based on sex or marital status. Before that, banks could — and often did — refuse women credit unless a man backed the account, even if the woman had her own income.
A lot of younger people genuinely don’t realize how recent that was. Women today can serve in combat roles, run companies, fly fighter jets, and hold office — but there are women still alive who remember being treated like legal dependents
So forgive me if I don’t clap along while today’s powerful women treat politics like the bachelor or some other sexual reality show.
Some of us fought to be taken seriously. Not turned into a punchline.

I’ve heard of the long arm of the law, but this looks like the long neck of the law.
I don’t know how you all feel about this, but remember there are everyday products made from petroleum not just gasoline. And every
one of those prices is skyrocketing also. Everybody wants tax relief, but this isn’t gonna change these products that are made and used every single day.

Pausing the federal tax on BOTH gas and diesel ensures Americans see savings directly at the pump and in the goods they buy every day. When the cost of diesel comes down, businesses spend less on transporting goods, which means lower prices and more savings for hard-working American families.

WHAT IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR? Well its just wild feral youth with zero consequences for behavior. Welcome to what your zero parental supervision and Tik Tok have bred.
My parents would have knocked our asses off had we done this. Now its just social media fodder. This is the America brought to us by liberal lawlesness and a turn from morals.

Remember these playground torture devices?
One kid went up. One kid came down. One kid got launched into low orbit.
No helmets. No padding. Just splinters, hot metal, and you just got up and walked it off
Pretty sure these aren’t even legal anymore… which is a shame, because they taught balance, physics, and regret all in one recess.
Did you play on these? I didn’t like it cause when the other kid got off you bottomed out your coccyx bone.

Happy good Monday everybody!
Mount Nebo State Park is one of those Arkansas places that makes you stop mid-sentence and just stare.
Sitting high above the Arkansas River Valley near Dardanelle, it gives you those massive sweeping views of Lake Dardanelle, the river, and ridge after ridge fading into the distance. The sunsets up there don’t just happen. It’s like God created it just for you to see.
And getting there is half the experience. The road up Mount Nebo is narrow, twisty, steep, and full of hairpin curves that’ll make you grip the steering wheel a little tighter. No trailers allowed, no big RVs crawling up the mountain just you, the climb, and that feeling you’re headed somewhere special.
By the time you reach the top, it feels like you’ve left the noise of the world behind.
You’ve got mountain air, overlooks, quiet trails, old cabins, and that kind of peaceful silence you can actually hear.
Mount Nebo isn’t just beautiful. It feels like old Arkansas untouched by time.
Thank you for this suggestion

Why are y’all worried about the grizzly bears in the national parks.
I literally will take my chances at Yellowstone or the grand Tetons or anywhere else over the big cities of America with the urbanites.

Zoos Across America Are Being Hit by Swatting Attacks
In the past few weeks, hoax bomb threats and active shooter calls have targeted dozens of U.S. zoos from Columbus Zoo (hit twice) to Phoenix, Louisville, Toledo, Akron, Cleveland, Zoo Miami, and more.
Families evacuated. Bomb squads deployed. Kids scared. All hoaxes. No real threats found.
This isn’t a “prank.” It’s a serious crime wasting law enforcement resources, costing zoos money, and disrupting innocent families trying to enjoy a day out. The FBI is involved, but these cowards keep striking.
Stand with our zoos. Report suspicious activity.
Pray for the safety of our communities and the animals. Enough is enough.

I think I figured out part of what’s really wrong on social media. What’s really happening now is people are being presented with actual facts… and instead of debating them, they get angry that the facts were even said out loud.
Somewhere along the line, emotions started outranking reality.
You can hand someone statistics, video, receipts, history, direct quotes, and documented proof — and instead of responding with logic, they respond with outrage because the information conflicts with what they want to believe.
Truth is not hate speech.
Facts are not violence.
And being offended does not automatically make you right.
If facts alone make someone furious, maybe the problem isn’t the facts.

What’s something you were taught growing up that you still do without even thinking?
For me, it’s turning off lights every time I leave a room like I’m personally responsible for the national power grid.
Funny how those little childhood lessons stick.
Close the door, don’t waste food, say thank you, turn off the lights and somehow hear your parents’ voice in your head forever.
What’s yours?

Mark Robinson with the most uplifting and eye opening speech as any historical speech ever given! Yes this is an old speech but it is as realvenant now as it will always be. The reason I want to post this is to encourage influencers and people on X fighting the good fight and remind you to not get caught up in fighting over single issues, what the algorithm is doing, or if you aren't making money on X. We need to stand strong for our Country. This is so appropriate to post on Sunday and please take the time to watch this spectacularly amazing speech that I love to watch frequently. Please put what ever division you have aside as midterms are here and it's time for us to group together and be prepared for what's to come. Make our voices loud not because we need followers, recognition, or money on a social media platform but because we wouldn't be able to enjoy these very things without coming together. My intention is to inspire you. If you aren't energized after hearing this speech then you maybe the problem. We have to think outside the box because of X's algorithm changes. You are welcome to take this video for yourself and post. I don't need recognition. All I want is for all of us to stay in this mindset. God bless you and God bless the America!

Nothing is more ridiculous than watching someone learn a word on TikTok or in school last Tuesday, then turn around and lecture older people who’ve been using that word correctly for decades. I am tired of defending my use of language because YOU have morphed it. You didn’t discover the term. You didn’t invent the meaning.
You heard a watered-down, trendy version of it on social media and decided everyone before you was wrong.
Language evolves. Nobody is denying that. It is also dependent on geography. What is said in New Jersey may not be the same as Alabama.
But evolution doesn’t mean pretending the original definition never existed just because your generation slapped a new attitude on it and made it go viral.
Arguing with older people who used the term before TikTok or Snap was even a fever dream isn’t education.
It’s arrogance in a ring light. Get a dictionary. You'll find one in your phone if you get it off selfie mode.

You guys I don’t understand the millennials. This was very disappointing to me yesterday.
Someone in my own family got 100 shares on Facebook and is now talking about quitting the job she got a degree for to become a social media influencer for a seasonal paddling business in hurricane country.
I love confidence. But 100 shares is not a retirement plan. It’s not health insurance. It’s not steady income. It’s one good gust of wind on an app that can bury you tomorrow.
Build the business, absolutely. But don’t throw away a degree, a paycheck, and stability because Facebook gave you dopamine and a standing ovation for 12 hours.
