South Australia has proudly led the nation in fighting against that discrimination. Like being the first state to decriminalise homosexuality under Don Dunstan’s government. And under the Malinauskas Labor Government we passed laws to ban harmful conversion practices. But this progress can never be taken for granted. That’s why International Day Against Homophobita, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is so important. Today - and everyday - I stand with the LGBTIQA+ community. And I will always fight any attempts to wind back the progress we have made.
