The July edition of Quantum State is live. June was another active month across quantum policy, infrastructure, investment, and commercialization, from new U.S. federal action on quantum technology to major funding rounds and industry collaborations. This month’s edition covers the momentum shaping the quantum ecosystem and the companies building toward its next phase.

BTQ joined the Canadian Quantum Co-Innovation Delegation in Seoul, selected by Global Affairs Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and Quantum Industry Canada, presenting alongside Samsung Ventures, HD Hyundai, and LG's quantum working group at Quantum Korea 2026. This month also marked a commercial milestone for BTQ’s quantum software portfolio, with SDT launching QuREKA™, its quantum cloud platform powered by MIMIQ™, the emulator developed by QPerfect, now a wholly owned subsidiary of BTQ. By emulating quantum hardware in the cloud, QuREKA gives companies a way to build and test quantum applications today, without needing access to physical quantum computers. Together with ICTK and SDT, BTQ is helping turn strategic partnerships into deployed quantum infrastructure. $BTQ

BTQ has completed its acquisition of QPerfect, anchoring a new European R&D hub in Strasbourg, France. Together, MIMIQ, Digital Twin, and Quantum Logic Unit (QLU) form BTQ's expanding quantum stack, enabling validation and testing for quantum-ready infrastructure from PQC migration to quantum-safe communications, critical for defense, telecom, and infrastructure. QPerfect CEO Philippe Blot says the partnership brings global infrastructure and security expertise reinforcing the longstanding France-Canada quantum collaboration recently affirmed at the May 2026 Digital G7. $BTQ

Google demonstrated a circuit for breaking the ECDSA and ECC signatures that secure blockchains, grounded the analysis in Bitcoin’s own attack model, and in doing so made the risk to crypto assets concrete and plausibly near-term rather than theoretical. It remains, importantly, an engineering problem the field knows how to solve and it is the problem Bitcoin Quantum is built to answer, with a quantum-safe Bitcoin and post-quantum settlement designed for exactly this threat.

BTQ Technologies Receives Final Approval for Full Acquisition of QPerfect, Advancing Its Mission of Building Trusted Quantum Technologies With World-Class Emulation, Digital Twin, and Control Capabilities $BTQ

For years, few companies were focused on making post-quantum security small and efficient enough to live on an ordinary device, a gap that has become more urgent as standards have advanced and deployment pressure has increase most of the industry only acknowledged once the standards were finalized and the pressure arrived. @pq_hackett saw it early, co-founding a post-quantum chip company out of Stanford in 2021, and that same hardware-first conviction is now central to how BTQ is working to bring post-quantum security across our networks. $BTQ

I got quoted in @DecryptMedia on Trump's two quantum executive orders, alongside Stefan Leichenauer (@SandboxAQ), Alex Pruden (@projecteleven), Paul Stimers (U.S. Quantum Industry Coalition), and Christopher Tam (@en_tropyc - @BTQ_Tech). Nothing in them is egregiously wrong, maybe a little redundant. The 2030 and 2031 post-quantum deadlines largely restate what NSM-10 and NIST already put on the table. For PQC, the order says "migrate," not "here's how to choose."  Companies are already asking for guidance, even those not "doing quantum" but hold critical data. Resource estimates to break encryption dropped 20x twice in the last year. Harvest-now-decrypt-later means anything with a long shelf life is already exposed. You can rotate a password. You cannot rotate your fingerprints. What I do think should have more discussion and keeping an eye on policy around: 1. The supply chain. 2. The data moat. And how all this affects startups, investors, and companies who are thinking about how a "made in America" mandate can affect day to day operations and opportunities. Thanks @jasonnelson!
