Tonight, many of our fellow Floridians will begin observing Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement: the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. Many will fast and spend the day in houses of worship, reflecting on the year that has passed and renewing their relationship with the Almighty through fasting, prayer, and charity.
I wish all who are fasting a meaningful fast and extend my best wishes that in this new year you be blessed with good health, peace, and prosperity.

What happened in Virginia is wrong for communities. This will never happen in Florida on my watch.
That’s why I will uphold Florida’s law signed by Governor DeSantis that does 3 things:
1. Protects local control. Communities have the final say.
2. Utility bills for Floridians will not go up for a data center.
3. Requires water use permits to protect Florida’s drinking water.
I will also sign a bill to add proximity protections — I don’t want one near my house or yours.
