Utilizing unmanned aerial systems.
Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, are used to gather real-time aerial intelligence, map fire progression, identify hot spots, and produce detailed maps that help firefighters make tactical decisions.
Trained operators from the @CALFIRELNU recently documented their work supporting the @CALFIRENEU mop-up of the Chute Fire.
Working closely with aviation resources to avoid airspace conflicts, their products greatly enhance the efficiency of mop-up operations.
