In an ongoing effort to help Californians prepare for earthquakes, the @Cal_OES Shake trailer was in San Francisco, ahead of the Giants Game, where dozens of people got to experience a simulated M7.0 earthquake. Cal OES participated in the @SFGiants 2026 Family Safety Festival, a community-focused event that promotes safety, preparedness and emergency awareness.

The National Weather Service is forecasting hazardous beach conditions along the entire California coastline. Large waves, strong rip currents, and unpredictable sneaker waves can pull people into the water. Cal OES urges anyone visiting or living near the coast to stay off rocks and jetties, remain out of the water, and monitor local weather alerts and instructions from local officials.
