The scary thing about high mcap trades is When it’s going up hard, you’re sidelined cuz you know a lot of people having crazy uPNL so u don’t top blast But your FOMO kicks in so you mistime it and top tick the chart Now you’re inclined to hold but when it goes down you don’t wanna sell for a loss, but u also don’t want to wait to 0 but you know a lot of people still have TPed and now there’s 6-7 figure bags underwater that haven’t capitulated yet You’re not trying to sell the bottom but “selling the bottom” could be the difference between a $50k roundtrip and a $300k loss One of the issues people tend to have especially when it comes to hitting their first big trade is this idea of “I gotta make this one worth it I never know when I’ll get another chance” so you end up overholding for that extra milestone (7 fig, 100k, 250k, 2000 SOL, whatever pretty number) the thought of roundtripping is humiliating (mainly to one’s ego, nobody on the timeline actually cares), but the thought of “fuck I had 500k Pnl at the top I can’t just leave with 100k” then that thought becomes “fuck I knew I shoulda exit at 100k profit, now I’m down, I’ll sell if it recovers to 100k profit” then “fuck now that it’s back to 100k I feel like we can get 300k profit again” until you eventually miss that final exit and you’re down multiple 6 figs when you shoulda profited. I always warn people about the spiral chasing numbers Anyways recent price action across the board has been short of impressive. Don’t get me wrong, fk load of cooks still, still a great time to be trenching/trading. But between the actions of a few and macro PA/news I think sentiment is far from bull market. That doesn’t mean u can’t make gen wealth ofc. But genny results don’t come from just holding, it comes from securing those profits for another time. People tend to doom during bear markets cuz they can’t fathom any “catalyst” to bring us back (fking new age 2025-2026 trenchers OML everything is catalyst this narrative that 🙄) it’s a good reminder random shit like a Robinhood chain can spark confidence in markets. Hell if market makers wanted to tickle our fancy they can. I’ve mentioned I think crypto for the most part bottomed out at 59k, but I think for the rest of the year it’s likely to be slow grind chop and maybe up for HYPE into more IPO exposure. Hopefully by the end of year we can look back at these times and say remember when Korea was over leveraged on memory stocks and the war was so back n forth. These times are still better than the yen crisis, Germany selling all their BTC and the war at that time. Bullish overall, but cautious.
