Security has always been a moving target.
What changes over time isn't just the technology. It's the speed at which we learn where its limits are.
What this research highlights is a shift in that pace.
The paper doesn't suggest today's systems suddenly stopped working. It suggests AI may be accelerating how quickly long-held cryptographic assumptions can be challenged.
For financial infrastructure, that's the more interesting shift.
Not because it changes today's security, but because it may change how quickly tomorrow's infrastructure needs to adapt.
