@Empty_America Listen you literally can commit genocide on white tailed deer in blue NJ (no season, unlimited non antlered deer) and it's still not enough .
Even more interesting would be raising a kid to be a fluent "Interlingua" speaker, which is an artificial Latinate language designed to be comprehensible to speakers of *any* modern romance language, although it works better for the Spanish-Portuguese-Italian group.
Would lead to some very funny interactions as they realized that they could understand you, but didn't actually know what language you were speaking.

No, it just doesn't cost very much to build a new 6 bedroom house Amish style.
They use modern materials but there is generally no electricity, no indoor toilets, no HVAC, etc.
Adjusted for inflation, the "house" itself might be cheaper to build now than ever before.

One of South Carolina’s oldest brick houses, Medway Plantation was constructed in 1686 by Dutch nobleman Jan Van Arrsens.
He led a small group of Dutch settlers and received a 12,000-acre grant from the Lords Proprietors of Carolina, known as the Whiskinboo Barony. Medway served as the manor house and centerpiece of the plantation.

His point here is a good one. The thing is though, the hedonic treadmill is real. And most people who haven't slept under a bridge or the like, aren't able to appreciate a house like this. They can't get past how it looks because to them, the primary purpose of a house isn't shelter. It's comfort. Existential and physical.
Anyone could enjoy this house. But most people aren't willing to do what is required to do so, which involves running the hedonic treadmill in reverse. Most of us would need to sleep under a bridge first. And we probably should.

The Knowledge of "how" to drive through America is somewhat a lost art.
On the interstates, you can drive coast to coast and see almost nothing but ugliness, gas stations, etc.
You need to research and follow the old "US Routes" these are 2 lane roads from the old days.

Corn is biodegradable.
Not a great use of land, but you can go from corn to a cow pasture in one year without landfilling infinity tons of toxic trash.
