Michigan turnout is interesting. As expected, working class rural and urban areas generally supported Stevens while wealthy suburbanites opted for the socialist aligned candidate. The DSA really is a bourgeoisie movement. I expect we'll see similar patterns in WI next week.

5.5 million jobs in the US supported by data centers: one million directly employed & 4.5m supporting jobs (equipment, contracting, etc) For context, that's TWICE as many direct jobs as the air transportation industry & as many total jobs as people who work in *hospitals*

The data center coming online in 2028 didn’t raise your utility bills in 2023. Your local monopoly utility lobbyist did that.
"AI is hiking your energy bill" is the most popular political talking point of 2026. The data doesn't support it. A thread:
They haven’t Democratic Socialisted hard enough yet.
Cuba’s lights are all off. Totally dark.
Just wait until the anti-data center crowd discovers factories.
There are 0 high-cost, high housing production cities in the US.

There’s an actual water crisis coming to the American Southwest. It’s not caused by climate change or data centers. It was caused by a mistake. Government officials assumed an average annual flow of 16.4 million acre ft per year in the Colorado River. They allocated 7.5 million acre ft to both the upper and lower basins as a result. The actual natural annual average is in the ballpark of 12 to 14.6 million acre ft. For decades, we’ve been allocating more water than is naturally repleted. We’ve known this. We’ve done nothing. Blaming climate change won’t solve the problem. It didn’t cause it. We should be talking about a national energy infrastructure project to power desalinization plants or to build pipelines from regions with excess water. But instead we march on toward crisis blaming everything but the cause and never discussing solutions.

NEW RESEARCH from @SamLyman33: China is interfering with US data center development in a campaign to slow the American AI buildout. In this groundbreaking report, we document 3 vectors of foreign influence: Chinese state media, the Singham network, and foreign billionaires.

Today in 1980, America built the world’s first data center in St. Helens, Washington. When they turned it on, it generated power equal to 67 Nagasaki bombs, causing the following ⬇️

He won’t be governor. @OurWisconsinRev is doing him dirty just like last time only this time his special friend isn’t there to defend him.
On day one as Governor, I will end the tax loopholes for wealthy corporations. ❌No company that ships jobs overseas should get a tax break. ❌No company that kills jobs or replaces workers with AI should get a tax break. ❌No company that prices out our small businesses or family farmers should get a tax break.

Hey look! @FrancescaHongWI is honored to be endorsed by Our Wisconsin Revolution, which fights to: - Ban many common hunting rifles - Opposes deporting violent illegal immigrants - Force workers to pay union dues against their will - Censor political views they oppose - Enact Ranked-Choice - Apply an equity lens to government budgeting - Make broadband a monopoly utility - Target small businesses with tax hikes - “Decarbonize” WI by 2020, which would raise utility bills by $1,000s, raise gas prices by several dollars/gallon, and cause blackouts - Place strict limits on many farms

Honored to receive the endorsement from Our Wisconsin Revolution! Together we make better possible 💙
The DSA is as bad at revisionist history as it is at affordability. WI was run by Democrats from statehood until shortly after it invented the Republican Party. Then from 1855 until 1900 it was solidly R. It largely remained R for the next 47 years with frequent battles fought between the stalwart and progressive wings of the party. During this period the socialists managed to occasionally elect a member or two who would go to Madison and sing the praises of the newly formed Soviet Union. For a brief period in the early 1930s, the furthest left progressives would debate them, arguing that Germany’s approach to socialism was superior to that of the Russians. Some of these pro-German progressives still have buildings named after them at the UW. In 46 the progressives collapsed and the Ds and Rs spent 3 decades competing until the Ds became dominant post Watergate. The state shifted back to a competitive D/R paradigm in 94 and it has persisted ever since. Socialism never worked in Wisconsin despite this new fashioned DSA fairytale, although many of the state’s largest policy failures originate with Democrats sympathetic to socialism.
